Magpie Gala Fundraiser

Our inaugural Magpie Gala fundraiser was held on February 15, 2025 and was a lot of fun and a huge success! Thanks to all of those who participated and volunteered in this wonderful event to honor and remember Maggie Grace Lyons, especially Combustion Brewery & Taproom for providing their space and libations!

With everyone’s help, we raised a total of $1,XXX.00 for The Magpie Fund, which will help children who have a sibling with special needs.

Magpie Fund Scavenger Hunt

Our inaugural Magpie Fund Scavenger Hunt fundraiser was held on November 6, 2021 and was a huge success! Thanks to all of those who participated and volunteered in this wonderful event to honor and remember Maggie Grace Lyons, especially Combustion Brewery & Taproom for providing their space and libations!

With everyone’s help, we raised a total of $1,949.00 for The Magpie Fund, which will help children who have a sibling with special needs.

Scavenger Hunt Items!

  • Take a picture in front of the first preschool, Heritage Elementary, Maggie attended. (Picture must include the school name and building)
  • Go to the Pickerington Public Library, there is a sculpture in front that students made. Find the tile with Maggie’s name on it and take a picture of it.
  • Find Maggie’s swing at Pickerington Central and take a picture with your team sitting on it.
  • Maggie Loved waffles. Take a picture of your team with or eating waffles.
  • Enjoy a Dilly bar with your team! Take a picture!
  • Maggie threw the softball (she was state champion in 2009) for Pickerington’s Special Olympics! Take a picture of one of your teammates throwing a ball at either high school stadium where she practiced.
  • When shopping at Target, you can get a special cart (Caroline cart) for people with disabilities. Take a picture with one of your team members with one of those carts.
  • Maggie attended Forest Rose School for many years.
  • Take a picture of your team in the treehouse behind the school! (This is a high risk, high reward challenge…watch your time)
  • Play the xylophone on the sensory friendly path down behind Forest Rose school.
  • Take a picture!!! (This is a high risk, high reward challenge…watch your time)
  • Buy a new stuffed toy to donate to Children’s Hospital and bring it with you at the end of the hunt. Each toy is worth 10 points but if you bring Maggie’s favorite, you get extra points.
  • Take a picture of your team with a person wearing one of the Maggie Monkey or Magpie Fund t-shirts.
  • Maggie loved to jump on the trampoline! Take a picture of your team jumping on a trampoline!
  • Dirt! Maggie loved dirt! Go play in the dirt! Take a picture!
  • Maggie loved M & M’s., Buy a bag and enjoy it, sitting with your team, sitting on a curb in front of Drug Mart in Pickerington. Take a picture! (5 bonus points if you bring a bag back with you)
  • Enjoy some McDonalds french fries sitting in the back of your car with your fit up on the seat! Take a picture!
  • Take your shoes off! Walk through the grass in your bare feet! Maggie wasn’t a fan of wearing her shoes! Take a pic!
  • Have a beer or your favorite beverage at Combustion after completing these clues.
  • Take a team selfie!
